Get Heart Smart – Natural Heart Health

Natural heart health should be everyone's priority. Heart disease is the No. 1 killer in North America for both men and women. That’s the bad news. The good news is you can do a number of things now to help prevent heart disease in the future.

As with all illness, prevention is better than cure. Following some healthy living ideas will lessen any chance of heart disease.

The following natural heart health ideas will help to improve your general health and prevent heart disease:

Eating a Healthy Diet – Processed foods high in fat have got to go. Whole grains and rice, veggies, fruits, some eggs, liver or fish will do the job.

Managing Your Weight – Obesity is linked to all forms of heart conditions. With a range of healthy diets available to you, you can get to your ideal weight and stay there.

Regular Exercise – We’re not saying you need to labour at the gym for 3 hours a day. 20 minutes of any form of exercise (just moving) 3 – 5 times per week is recommended.

Curb the Tobacco, Alcohol and Caffeine – Fairly self-explanatory. All have harmful effects on your body and increase your risk of coronary disease.

Effective Stress Management – You could be implementing all the above natural heart health ideas but without this component, you are still doing yourself a disservice.

Helpful Heart Herbs

The above mentioned items are all very important to your overall health but you can also include some wonderful natural herbal health products that can further enhance your natural heart health efforts in combating one or several of the forms of cardiovascular disease. As well as purchasing individual herbs, there are two wonderful pre-made remedies that we highly recommend.

Aqua-Rite helps to maintain healthy blood pressure, artery clarity and functioning and heart health. High-Rite promotes water balance to maintain blood pressure, cardiovascular, liver and gall bladder health. Use them together for even better results. One of my clients stated he "hadn't felt this good in a long time" after using these two products for just two short months.

  • Hawthorn: Lowers blood pressure by helping to dilate clogged and hardened arteries. It also increases the hearts ability to cope with a loss of oxygen, which is what happens when clogged coronary arteries reduce the heart's blood supply.

  • Garlic: Has long been known to help prevent heart disease and reduce the risk of atherosclerosis. It also helps to reduce high blood pressure. Modern research has shown that regular intake of garlic lowers cholesterol levels in the blood, and reduces blood clotting in blood vessels, making it particularly useful for coronary/artery disease.

  • Ginkgo Biloba: A natural stress reliever. Impaired circulation to the brain, often called a stroke, can cause severe and far-reaching effects on the entire body. Ginkgo Biloba leaf extracts have been shown to cause dilation and increase the blood flow in the arteries, capillaries and veins. In addition, they inhibit platelet aggregation, reduce blood clotting and work through antioxidants to protect our vascular walls from free-radical damage.

  • Coenzyme Q10: This supplement is linked to improved circulation. Improving circulation provides great benefit to heart health as it aids in improving the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the heart. This allows the heart to work more effectively and contributes to a drop in blood pressure.

  • Cayenne, Rosemary, and Chamomile: These herb supplements are also linked to decreases in cholesterol and blood pressure and the general maintenance of a health circulatory system.

  • Bilberry: Most linked to the health of our eyes, bilberry actually delivers those results because they improve our microcirculatory health (the miniscule capillaries in our eyes and several other organs). They not only improve circulation to those microcapillaries but aid in the strengthening of vascular walls, and stimulate the formation of new capillaries.

  • Ginger: In various studies, ginger has been shown to be almost as effective as aspirin and garlic in preventing the blood clots that trigger heart attack.

  • Lemon Balm: Helps to reduce high blood pressure and helps to calm palpitations and rapid breathing.

Don’t forget as well everyone should be taking a very good multivitamin and mineral supplement too. Most scientists agree that that almost no one has optimum levels of many key nutrients and this will fill many such gaps.

The key to natural heart heath is prevention. Yes you can take herbal supplements but you should also think about your diet and lifestyle in combination with them.

Natural heart health just makes sense!
